Address by the Media Committee of the ChRI Parliament
SIA CHECHENPRESS,
Bismillah1irrohmanirroh’imi!
Esteemed journalists, editors of state information agencies. The Parliamentary Committee on the Media highly recommends that when you cover the Chechen topic you refrain from the indiscriminate and wholesale use of such terms as ‘vakhibite’, ‘murtad’, ‘munafik’, ‘murtads’ wives’, ‘children of munafiks’ etc, particularly if such harsh verdicts have not been previously passed by the alim judges on a particular person, group of people, non-government organisations etc.
All of us should be aware that such ideological constructs are being actively promoted in the Chechen society by hostile forces. Beware that such indictments should not become common currency among the Chechens. Which is exactly what the enemies of the Chechen nation are after. We think that our people should come out of the present situation with the smallest possible losses consolidating for the sake of our future.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Media Committee,
Chechen MP Dokka Amagov
