Only Allah the Almighty and the Chechen people can change the status of Chechnya

I express my resolute support of the statement made by the Foreign Minister of the ChRI Akhmed Zakaev on 31 October 2007.

At the same time I am certain that neither Doku Umarov, nor Udugov can possibly abolish the ChRI Constitution of 12 March 1992, which was adopted with the participation of the great son of the Chechen people Djokhar Dudaev and his close associates.

Only Allah the Almighty and His Majesty the Chechen people could change the status of Chechnya and the status of its Constitution. This is what Dudaev used to say and I totally agree with him. I wish the Parliament and the Government an opportunity to work as before, according to the fundamental law of our state, and I hope that this time they will make wise decisions for the benefit of the entire Chechen nation.
