Bukovsky: No Russian Interest in the War against Chechnya
SIA CHECHENPRESS, October 23, 2007
Russians have no national interest in the North Caucasus, the war in Chechnya is organized by the Chekists, - said Vladimir Bukovsky, famous Soviet dissident and political prisoner, now a writer and human rights activist. Mr. Bukovsky is now visiting Moscow.
‘Russia has no national interest in North Caucasus,’ Mr. Bukovsky said in an interview with the NewTimes. ‘It used to have it in the past, but not today. The war in Chechnya is purely political. It was a Chekist trick to start that war. As a result, the war spread all over North Caucasus.’
