Recent human rights violations in Chechen Republic of Ichkeria

The details of recent human rights abuses by Russian occupational authorities in Chechen Republic of Ichkeria were released yesterday by the CHRI Ministry of Information and Press.
Large-scale punitive “special operations” code-named “Zaslon” (“Covering”) are being conducted in CHRI by the occupational structures since June 1. “Interior Ministry”, “Special Militia Forces” and other gangs are involved in these “special operations”. They have kidnapped several dozens of civilians, who were accused of participating in military actions or of helping the Resistance. The punitive actions are underway both in the highlands and in the lowlands.
On June 2 Alikhan Baisayev was released after a two-weeks-long imprisonment and tortures. He had been captured from his own flat at Ulitsa Zavety Ilyicha 34, Poselok Tashkal, Mashadovsky Rayon, Grozny (Djakhar). According to eye-witnesses, he was captured by Russian terrorists who arrived to the house at a dark-coloured car VAZ 21099.
On June 4, Adam Said-Hasanovich Mangireyev (born 1981) and his brother Said-Emin Mangireyev (born 1982) were captured in Kurchaloi. The kidnapping was made by a group of “kadyrovtsy”, driving at two “Niva” cars and one UAZ car. On the same day, these “kadyrovtsy” captured another Kurchaloi inhabitant, Mohamed Hozh-Ahmedovich Sugaipov, born 1973. Next day (June 5), they captured other two locals: Apti Govdayev, born 1982, and Ibragim Yusupovich Tutuyev, born 1982.
According to preliminary information, all these civilians were driven to Kadyrov’s personal prison in Tsentoroi village. On June 6 it became known that Sugaipovm, Adam Mangireyev and Apti Govdayev were severely beaten and then released.
The fate of Said-Emin Mangireyev and Ibragim Tutuyev still remains unknown.
On June 8, Hamzat Shamsuldinovich Tushayev, born 1959, residing at Grozny (Djokhar), ul. Dyakova, 19, kv. 54, was captured in Djokhar (Grozny).
Mr. Tushayev was summoned to an “interrogator” of the occupational “prosecutor’s office”. At 10:00 on June 8, Tushayev and his wife came to the occupational Administrative Building Complex in Djokhar. In the entrance hall, the guard called the “prosecutor’s office” and issued a pass for Tushayev. Tushayev went inside, while his wife remained in the entrance hall. The long absence of her husband worried her, and at 17:30 she asked the guard to call the “prosecutor’s office”. The latter replied that Hamzat Tushayev did not come to them. The further fate and whereabouts of the Chechen are unknown.
On June 9, a 42-year-old man was captured by pro-Kremlin forces in Goragorsk village, of Nadterechnyi District. His name is being clarified. The Ministry’s source says that the Russian terrorists searched the home of this peaceful Chechen, put some weapons there, and used them as a pretext for an arrest.
On June 10, a punitive action was conducted by the collaborators in Kotar-Yurt village of Achkhoi-Martan District. Two young men were captured and driven away to unknown direction. At the moment, the name of only one of them is known: Bekmurzayev. The further fate and whereabouts of the captives are unknown.
On June 10 Saidi Khavazhevich Tarzayev, aged 33 or 35, was captured by the collaborators in the Okruzhnaya refugee camp in Yandarbiyev District (former Oktyabrsky District) of Djokhar (Grozny), and driven away to unknown direction. Later, after severe tortures and beating, Mr. Tarzayev was released. The pretext for his arrest is still unknown.
A local was captured in Kalinovskaya, of Naursky District. The occupants accuse him of participation in the 1996 Chechen military operation in the town of Kizlyar. His further fate is unknown.
Another civilian was captured in Nadterechny District. The pro-Moscow terrorists are accusing him of murdering Ahmed Zavgayev, so-called “Administration head of Nadterechnyi District”, and his secretary.
On June 10, a “zachistka” (cleansing operation) took place in Duba-Yurt village, of Shali District.
On June 11, the aggressors and collaborators conducted a “zachistka” in Novye Atagi settlement of Shali District.
The same day, a “partial zachistka” was conducted in Valerik village of Achkhoi-Martan District.
On June 12, in the morning, Russian aircraft bombed the area around Turti-Kotar village. The Ministry still does not possess the information about the civilian casualties.
On June 12, the occupational forces made an attempt to capture a young man, aged 20 to 22 years (his name is being clarified), an inhabitant of Novye Atagi village. The Chechen, who had already been arrested by the national traitors before, and later released after severe tortures, tried to run away. Then the terrorists opened fire. The heavily wounded youngster was brought to a hospital in Djokhar, and died a few hours later. According to his fellow villagers, he had never took pat in the military actions.
On the night to June 13, in Goragorsk, of Nadterechny District, an armed national traitor killed one man and wounded another as a result of “careless handling of weapons”. The accident happened in the house at Ulitsa Yuzhnaya, dom 74. The drunk boasting of an armed servant of the Russians resulted in a tragedy for civilian Chechens who celebrated a wedding of their fellow villager.
On June 13, the national traitors captured one of the locals in Djaglargi village of Kurchaloi District. The name of the arrested person and other circumstances of the event are being clarified.
On June 13, two brothers were captured from Guchum-Kale village of Shatoisky District by the pro-Moscow chastisers. They are accused of helping the CHRI Armed Forces. The scheme of their “arrest” was a usual one: their house was searched, and a “Shmel” flame-thrower and a machine-gun were put there during the search, the eye-witnesses say. The names of the captured Chechens are being clarified. Their further fate is unknown.
On June 14, a local was captured from Vedeno District. The man, accused of loyalty to CHRI government’s forces, was tortured. His name is being clarified.
On the evening of June 14, so-called “partial zachistkas” were conducted in Gekhi village of Urus-Martan District. They were followed by full-scale “zachistkas” (cleansing operations) on June 15. The Ministry still does not possess the information about the victims of these “zachistkas”.
On June 15, a local was captured from Mesker-Yurt village, of Shali District. He is accused of being loyal to the government since December 2005 when he, allegedly, became a liaison and began to hide weapons and ammunition for Chechen soldiers. The name and whereabouts of the man are being clarified.
On June 15, around 19:30, pro-Moscow terrorists captured four young men from Serzhen-Yurt village, of Shali District: Abdul Khachuyev, Ilyas Khachuyev, Edigov, and Idrisov – all aged about 20 to 23. The kidnappers drove at two cars, “UAZ” and “Niva”. The captives were driven away in the unknown direction, and their current whereabouts are unknown.
On June 15, twelve Russian military helicopters made a mass missile strike at the forests and mountain canyons of Shatoisky District. According to eye-witnesses, the terrorist air strikes went on for at least 40 minutes around a number of settlements. The Ministry does not have any information about civilian casualties.
Three locals were arrested in Kurchaloi District. The occupational authorities stopped the locals’ VAZ-2106 car at the road from Kurchaloi to Niki-Khita, and arrested the travelers. The arrested persons, accused of involvement in the activities of CHRI Armed Forces, are tortured. The names and further fate of these Chechens are being clarified.
Labazan Guseinov, aged 29, was arrested in the city of Kizlyar in Dagestan. Mr. Guseinov is accused of supporting the activities of Caucasus Front. His further fate is unknown.
Broad-scale “zachistkas” (cleansing operations) have been underway for the whole last week in the suburbs of Nazran, the biggest city of Ingushetia. The number of victims among the locals is being clarified.
