On 17th of June, in the town of Argun, CHRI President Abdul-Halim Sadulaev died like a hero in a severe battle against greatly outnumbering forces of Russian chastisers.
In connection with this, the CHRI government declared a three-day kyoman tezet mourning from May 18 to May 20, both inside and outside CHRI.
Ahmed Zakayev, the Foreign Minister of CHRI, made a statement, where he expressed deep condolences to the President’s family and to the whole Chechen nation. “We have lost a dignified leader and one of the selfless champions of our right cause,” the statement reads.
According to the information which the Foreign Ministry possesses, mourning activities for President Sadulayev’s death are going to take place in Austria, Denmark, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Netherlands, USA and Canada.
Russian authorities, in violation of principles and provisions of international law, keep conducting terrorist murders of Chechen leaders for the last ten years. Foreign Ministry of CHRI, once again, calls upon the leaders of the world community to give political and legal assessment
of these murders.
