The statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of CHRI

CHECHENPRESS, the Department of the official information, 02.03.06.

 

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Chechen Republic Ichkerija welcomes the appeal to the world community, published in the Czech newspaper Mlada Fronta Dnes, signed by known politicians of the world, among which are Nobel prize winners of world Valtsav Gavel and bishop Desiond Tutu. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of CHRI declares that management of CHRI as the unique legitimate authority has a firm and constant position for the decision of having problems by political negotiations, denying an opportunity of the power decision of mutual relation between CHRi and the Russian Federation, blaming destructive forces and actions stimulating continuation of a military-political opposition and, as consequence, increasing catastrophic position of population of CHRI.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of CHRI supports V.Gavel and his adherents calling to lift the Chechen question during summit of "big eight" which will pass in Russia.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of CHRI, taking into account exclusive importance of the given appeal for the benefit of the peace and stability on Caucasus, at the same time, calls to support all people of good will the initiative of known politicians - humanists of the world.

The Nobel winners have subjected to sharp criticism the policy of Russia in the Chechen Republic

The former president of Czechia Vatslav Gavel, and number of other Nobel prize winners of the world and public figures have published on Wednesday in the newspaper of "Mlada Ronta Dnes" the appeal in which have subjected to sharp criticism the policy of Russia in the Chechen Republic.

Authors of the letter call world community "not to close eyes anymore " on the Russian-Chechen war. Under their statement, " this war hides returning to autocracy in Russia ". They call to carry out discussion about the Chechen Republic in connection with forthcoming summit of " the big eight " in June in Saint Petersburg.

Alongside with Gavel the appeal have signed former Supreme commissioner of the United Nations under human rights Mary Robinson, the ex-prime minister of republic of South Africa Frederik de Clerk, bishop Dezmond Tutu, the American financier George Soros and other known people, informs "Kavkaz-Centr".
